I got a Wacom Bamboo Capture today.

I always knew it would be hard to use these things, but… shit…

My respect for all digital artists has quadrupled.

I’m getting a Wacom Bamboo Connect tomorrow.

THE JOURNEY HAS BEGUN.

Will release later today, I’m just not sure how it will release. I could host it on dropbox, but other than that I really haven’t had to distribute a mod before.

The mod is only a retexture of the game, and will release as version 1.0.

I still have no idea who made the original SCP-087-B, and the game wasn’t packed with any sort of readme either, nor are there credits. As far as I know, it’s also not distributed from any particular source, so there’s no website (that I can find) connected with it. I think I modded the most recent version of the game, but I have no way of knowing for sure. I’m distributing it as a completed package because I’m not sure about the compatibility with previous and future builds that are out there.

I will have it out before 10pm EST tonight, at least that’s the plan. I will post either way to let everyone know what the status of the mod is.

Has great service, at a great price, with no long term contracts, all packaged with the best commercials, and the best “I’m not rich but I want a rich person android phone” phones. They have great coverage too, I get reception everywhere…

Everywhere except my own house. In order to get 1 bar of signal from my 200 dollar phone in my computer room, I need to hold it in a 4 inch cubic space in the air, going towards any wall loses the signal, that includes the window and the floor and the ceiling. Luckily that 4 inch cubic space is barely just above my table top, so a notepad works wonders to get it just into that sweet spot for magic coverage.

Until I need to type something with the damned slide out keyboard, then I’m just doomed.

So Spitfire mod, every time I send you a text, keep in mind I’m going through hell to do it.

So, the guy in front of me in class is writing a fanfic with Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy in it… so that means it’s time for an update.

For one, I’m sorry for the lack of Rainbow Dash and especially Celestia updates. I’m gonna try and get on that during this upcoming week. This current week is pretty busy though, so I can’t make promises this week. Sorry guys.

On other fronts, I’m working on a mod to SCP-087-B. I’m calling it SCP-087-BHD. Right now it’s an extensive retexture project featuring new textures of 4096x4096 in size, in contrast to the game’s standard 512x512 texture sizes. Whether or not the project goes farther than texture updates is largely dependent on things outside of my control, but this will be the first mod I will actually publicly release. So far the mod works well on very low end video card setups, including my mobile Intel 945. Yes, it works on a mobile Intel chipset from the pre-core i7 era. Yeah.

I just sold my Razer Onza Tournament Edition controller to my dad… yep…

Well that’s definitely true of console games right now, but there’s lots of games making their way to PC for a whole lot less. “Indie” games are selling from 10 to 20 dollars. Minecraft being the most expensive at 30. Tons of good “AAA” games making there way to steam at the sub 40 price point, Alan Wake being the most notable one, with a completely redesigned engine specifically for the PC version and all the Xbox Live DLC thrown in for free. Even on sale for 40.19, I can’t see MW3 honestly being competitive against any of the other offerings at its price point. Including its older releases. In fact, playing MW3 just made me want to play Call of Duty 4, because the few elements changed in MW3 did nothing but destroy the likable elements copied from the original game. The only thing I can’t speak for in MW3 is the storyline, but at this point I’m positive I wouldn’t drop more than 10 dollars to play it, especially with so many other good games out there for far less money.

Honestly, those EA sports games do far more to change the game each year than this game has since CoD4. It’s disgraceful really, nothing is different between this and Modern Warfare 2. I mean, Halo 3 ODST got more out of development than this game. Heck, even Command and Conquer 4 got more out of development than this game. This game is just plain sad… nothing works right, it looks bad, it plays wrong, it feels wrong. How did this game even sell at a 60 dollar price point?

I’ve played 73 minutes of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer. For anyone that doesn’t know, it’s free this weekend, so I gave it a try.

My experiences in order:

• Instantly disappointed by same crap menus from Call of Duty 4.
• Instantly click “optimal settings” graphics option and hope for the best.
• Go into Team Death Match playlist.
• Instantly disappointed by no dedicated server lists.
• Play 1 game.
• The graphics suck.
• This is still MW2.
• Lose horribly but score highest on team.
• Starting assault rifle has so much recoil it’s actually useless.
• I got all my kills with the secondary SMG thing.
• Play 2 games.
• Get beat to crap by lag. NAT setting is Moderate.
• Port Forward MW3.
• Play 2 games.
• Beat other players to crap by lag. NAT setting is Open.
• Get destroyed by way too highly ranked players with crazy looking guns.
• Stare in utter shock at bullshit kill cams.
• Back out after losing.
• Find new game.
• Rape.
• Back out.
• Find new game.
• Same people.
• Get raped.
• Finally find new game with new people.
• Auto controller 50 cal sniper guy spawn killing.
• Rage quit.

I am now removing this game from my Steam Wishlist. Forever.

I had way too much to do today… didn’t even get to touch tumblr until 1:30 am… which is 2 hours past when I should have been sleeping. UHG… hopefully tomorrow works out better. See you guys around.
